Part of an interview with Halit Ziya (Uşaklıgil)

Here is a screen shot of a test piece for the Reversible Transcription tool. It is part of an interview with the prominent late-Ottoman/Turkish author-novelist, Halit Ziya Uşaklıgil. On the left hand column is the modern Turkish version in Latin script, in the middle the ‘original’ text in Arabic script, and finally on the right column, the transcription text.
As you can see in this example, this is an extremely useful tool for not only Ottomanists working on different periods of the empire and diverse type of texts, but also, potentially, for specialists of languages/literatures that use non-Latin scripts. Once the source text is coded into the tool, you can automatically get all the different versions with just one click!
